LAURIE METCALF is Debbie Salt, an ambitious small-town reporter who rushes to the scene of the murders hoping to boost her career.

Metcalf first started on NBC's "Saturday Night Live," and is best known for her role as Jackie on the television series "Roseanne."

She made her feature film debut with "Desperately Seeking Susan," as Rosanna Arquette's valium-dependent sister-in-law. She went on to deliver memorable perfromances in "Internal Affairs," "Pacific Heights," "JFK," "Blink," starring Madeline Stowe and Aidan Quinn, "Leaving Las Vegas," starring Academy AwardŽ winner Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue, "Dear God," and "U Turn," starring Sean Penn and Jennifer Lopez. Her next feature film is the political satire "Bulworth," starring Warren Beatty and Halle Berry.
