HEATHER MATARAZZO joins the cast of
SCREAM 3 as Martha Meeks, a teenager who
delivers an eerie message from the only
person who knew the rules--- and guessed
the killers right--- before he was murdered
in Windsor College.
Matarazzo took the independent film world
by storm at the age of 13 when she starred
as Dawn Weiner in Todd Solodz' dark comedy
"Welcome to the Dollhouse." The film won
the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film
Festival, and Matarazzo was honored the
with the 1997 Independent Spirit Award for
Best Debut Performance. She has since
appeared in "The Devil's Advocate," opposite
Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino, "The Deli,"
"Hurricane Streets," "54," starring
Neve Campbell
and Mike Myers, "Strike," with Kirsten
Dunst, "Company Man" and the 1993 Mobil
Award-winning "A Children's Story." Her
latest film, "Getting to Know You," debuted
at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival/ Dramatic
Competition.
Matarazzo's television work include a
starring role in the television movie "Our
Guys: Outrage in Glen Ridge," based on the
true story of a young retarded woman sexually
assaulted by a high school football team.
Her additional television credits include
recurring roles in "Roseanne," "The
Adventures of Pete & Pete" and "Townies."
She also had guest-starring roles in the
series "Law & Order" and "ER." Currently, she
stars in the television series "Now and
Again."
Matarazzo's stage
credits include a regional production of "The
Miracle Worker," in which she played Helen
Keller. She has also done the audio book
recording of R.L. Stine's "Ghost of Fear
Street," Nada Surf's music video "Treehouse,"
and Sheryl Crow's music video "A Change Will
Do You Good."
Matarazzo was born on November 10, 1982 in
Long Island, New York.
