Salmon flies

Salmon are not always easy to catch. These fish swim into costal rivers once a year to spawn. When they spawn they are concentrating more on getting to the spawning grounds than feeding. While traveling upsteam they push forward and rest only briefly traveleling hundreds of miles to reach the part of the river where they were born.

Although salmon are on the go they may be enticed into biting. Flashy flies or attention getters, will most likely induce a strike. Try to find spots where these fish will rest and cast up stream jerking the rod to make the fly resemble a small fish swimming.

Good luck and I hope this page helps.
