"Franger's been gone way to long" thought Jadax, as he left the group to
go find Franger. He found him with Hyru. In the distance stood a figure with
a crossbow pointed at Hyru. The figure released the arrow. Hyru saw it
coming, and grabbed Franger like a human shield. The arrow missed them both,
and Hyru threw Franger to the ground. The figure came running towards Hyru,
and Jadax leaped onto Hyru's head, grabbing his neck, and fell off. Hyru
maintained his balance, and got out his favorite weapon, a sledgehammer. He
was about to kill Jadax when he saw Chan Lao out of the corner of his eye.
He quickly swung the hammer and hit Chan in the face. Chan staggered around
a bit, then fell unconscious. Hyru went on, forgetting about Jadax. Franger
came up to Jadax, and they went on to the clan dojo.
  At the dojo, Franger told Spyre everything about Hyru. Spyre called for a
meeting, but Jadax decided not to stick around, and asked for a mission
dealing with Hyru in some way. Spyre granted his request, giving him this
mission: meet Nick Swindle on the Seco beaches, and get him to come with
him. He would lead Nick all over the place, to throw Hyru's men off. Kill any
of Hyru's agents they spotted. Kill Nick if he was any trouble. "After all,"
said Spyre, "Hyru needs Nick to get the Sangora scrolls. And if you have
Nick, he'll be nearly under our power!"
  The next morning (Day 8) Jadax was at the beach, looking at all the crafts
he saw. After an hour, he saw a small boat with Nick in it.
He put down his backpack full of supplies and got out a broadsword, in case
Nick resisted. "If he tries to sell me anything, I'll kill him" thought
Jadax. Pretty soon, Nick reached the shore and climbed out. He took two
steps before he heard Jadax say "Hey, Nick." "Wha-? Who are you?" "I'm
nobody." Jadax told him about the scroll and Hyru, and his mission. "So.
Will you join me?" When confronted with the decision, Nick's eyes went wide.
He was shaking all over. Should he go with this guy or risk Hyru coming
after him? "So, what'll it be?"
