I have been an animal lover all my life. Have had quite a selection of animals raising 3 kids! We had everything from dogs, cats, to ferrets, a rabbit, hamsters, an iguana, and tropical fish!! Oh and I can't forget 2 parakeets! :-) I even raised a baby squirrel. It had fallen out of a tree in our backyard. I saw our cat looking at something out the window and went to look. The poor little thing didn't even have any hair yet and it's eyes were closed.
Well that is the most rewarding thing. I was up feeding him every 2 hours and was up around the clock like having a newborn baby. I named him Pee-Wee. He grew fast and loved his food! He grew to love me and my family so much. As he got older, we made him a big cage, so he would have more room. I swear, this squirrel was like my own child! I loved him so much. He was with us quite awhile. We built a large cage for outside and he loved it.
Then one day the time came that I knew we had to let him out. That was so hard for me. I was so afraid he would get run over by a car, or a cat would get him. For a long time he stayed. We could walk outside the back door and here he would come, and jump up on us. Eat out of our hands. He would play and run and was always so happy.
Remember that animals are God's creatures too and need our love...
