Blue's Little Critter's!

Welcome To My Little Critters Page! I have a lot of pages of info on here now about animals. Hope you will check them out while you here. Remember to check back because I am working on it and adding to it all the time.

I have been an animal lover all my life. Have had quite a selection of animals raising 3 kids! We had everything from dogs, cats, to ferrets, a rabbit, hamsters, an iguana, and tropical fish!! Oh and I can't forget 2 parakeets! :-) I even raised a baby squirrel. It had fallen out of a tree in our backyard. I saw our cat looking at something out the window and went to look. The poor little thing didn't even have any hair yet and it's eyes were closed.

I called a friend of mine that ran a pet store. He told me that it was not that hard and I could raise it myself. So I thought ok, I will give it a try.

Well that is the most rewarding thing. I was up feeding him every 2 hours and was up around the clock like having a newborn baby. I named him Pee-Wee. He grew fast and loved his food! He grew to love me and my family so much. As he got older, we made him a big cage, so he would have more room. I swear, this squirrel was like my own child! I loved him so much. He was with us quite awhile. We built a large cage for outside and he loved it.

Then one day the time came that I knew we had to let him out. That was so hard for me. I was so afraid he would get run over by a car, or a cat would get him. For a long time he stayed. We could walk outside the back door and here he would come, and jump up on us. Eat out of our hands. He would play and run and was always so happy.

Then one day he wasn't there. I called and called to him. He didn't come. I saw some squirrels in the tree, but none would come down. I don't know if he was one of them, and didn't want to leave his new friends, or if he was just gone, or worse...dead. It was very hard to let him go. That is an experience I will never forget. I got so much out of raising that little squirrel and saving his life. I will always remember him, my friend... my baby....PeeWee.

Remember that animals are God's creatures too and need our love...
