On the top of each shroud covering the radiator and coolant tank, remove a large Philips head screw.

Remove two screws attaching the inside part of the shroud to the coolant tank guard. I remove the screws closest to the shroud cover, not the bolts that are shown still in place in this photo.

KLR650 Radiator Tank

Remove the shroud covering the radiator similar to the coolant shroud. Start the KLR650 and let the coolant get a little on the warm side. Be very careful when removing the radiator cap, release the pressure slooowly and wear protective gear to protect you from possible hot coolant. The coolant in the radiator is pressurized and will spray out if you do not release the pressure slowly. Do not attempt this procedure if you do not follow or understand these precautions.
