Though the 30SE and the 30SE Jota signify the ultimate Lamborghinis so far, ironically, only 150 were built for the entire world. Those 150 are mostly spoken for, but Lamborghini has subsequently provided an ongoing supply to meet the need for ultra-performance. However, it required another model to do it, hence the Diablo SV (Sport Veloce) was born.

This new derivation continued the spartan theme but to a slightly less of an extreme than the 30th Anniversary Special Edition. The SV was to make available the capability of cutting edge performance with no frills. Much of what was learned on the 30SE was implemented into the SV. A slight boost in horsepower and the weight savings kept the explosive feel that the 30SE possessed. Exterior changes were minimal.

The SV most closely resembles a Diablo VT. The side skirts are the same as the VT. There is a new front spoiler, only slightly altered from the original VT. The SV sports a new black matte rear wing that has the variable setting flap much like the 30SE. The SV also has a new set of wheels that exemplify the new image. The biggest change to the SV though, is the addition of a very large "SV" badge painted on the side of the car. Ironically, it doesn't look out of place, not even outrageous, the car itself takes car of that. The interior of the SV is much like the 30SE, but slightly more refined and elegant, nevertheless, only the basics were kept. Very little soundproofing remains and the alcantara interior material is the same synthetic suede leather as in the 30SE.
