To further enhance the Lamborghini image around the world, a very unique single car-make racing challenge has been started. It is known as the Charriol Trophy Challenge. It is a series of races with equally equipped Diablo SVR's, which is a race prepared SV. About 30 SVR's race on several of the tracks around the world that are also visited by the Formula 1 series.

The SVR is the first officially sanctioned effort by Lamborghini into GT racing, and only the second in general racing, with the entry into the Formula 1 series a few seasons ago. At this stage, the series is a great success and has boosted interest in Lamborghini as a whole. Plans are already in the works to continue the series for 1997 and beyond.
