These are some photos I took at a local Nickel Creek concert. In case you have not heard them--I suggest you do not pass go--go directly to your local music store and purchase their CD. Chris Thile (mandolin) is considered to be by many critics the best mandolin player in the world, has a beautiful voice--and is quite humorous and personable backstage. Sara Watkins (violin) has a voice sweeter than Jewel, and her brother Sean Watkins (guitar) plays sparkling and soulful solos. Their music is a wonderful blend of bluegrass roots, contemprary style, and solid beautiful lyrics and songwriting. And they're only in their early twenties! I speak highly of them because I have been to two of their shows, and know firsthand what a shining oracle of a band they are in this day and age of less than creative and talened music.
