Guess Jeans was originally found violating federal wages and hour laws and fined nearly $573,000. They promised to shape up their act and set up a monitoring program for it's contractors to end worker's rights violations. Nothing changed. They were again caught over and over violating the rights of Los Angelas workers. Illegal Imigrant Workers were found in 8 different Los Angelas homes and in many factories contracted by Guess. Workers by that point had been cheated out of over $650,000. When workers finally decided to orginaize and fight for their rights, Guess picked up and moved their opperations to Mexico. Now they pay workers less than .50 cents an hour, a wage that does not come close to providing these slaves with the basic fundamentals for survival. Guess owners Paul and Maurice Marciano have been raking in millions and millions of dollars at their workers expense and it is up to you as a consumer to make a stand.
