Here is the scoop on Nike in China... keep in mind that this is just in one factory in one country and that they have other factories in many more places than just China and the rest are not much more civilized if not worse.


The Wellco Factory, Dungguan China:
-Wrokshifts are 11-12 hours a day, seven days a week
-Perhaps, one might receive every other Sunday off
-Wages are as low as 16 cents per hour ($6.92 per week or $358.84 a year)
-Workers cannot talk
-If a worker does not fill their production quota they must stay until they do (without pay of course)
-Pregnant wimmin are fired
-One worker died due to horrible factory conditions
-One lost an arm, an dmany have broken or lost fingers
-There are no unions
-Mistreatment complaints have resulted in immediate job termination
-In the the sewing section 13-15 year old children have been found
-The supervisors warn employees of any inspections. The factory is then cleaned and management is ALWAYS present if the employees are interviewed.
