Poetry and a lot more... Words touch us. One of the things that makes human beings special is our ability to communicate with language. Without getting too philisophical about my passion for words, language, and writing, let me just say that this is my favorite part of the site. Enjoy. This is a family-oriented site, and I take that responsibility very seriously. For that reason, you should know that most of the stories and poems here were written with adults in mind. I have not and will never include pieces here of a gratuitously violent or sexually explicit nature. Know, though, that some of the language and subject matter on the following pages may be inappropriate for small children. There are quite a few postings on these pages that were sent to me with no author or publisher listed. I have assumed that these pieces are not copyrighted and posted them here, anyway. If you see something on these pages that should be removed or if you see something copyrighted that is not credited appropriately, please notify me via email so that I can rectify the problem. I am thrilled that I have received and been able to find so many military-oriented pieces to post. Because this site is themed around military families, it's only appropriate that most of the pieces here also have a military theme. However...I encourage you all to submit non-military pieces as well. Happy reading, everyone. I hope you enjoy these pages as much as I do. TOUCHING TO TORCHING - FICTION & PROSE: Everything from Chicken Soup to political commentaries to news articles. I want to see writing that moved you - to love, to tears, to action, or even to anger. Let's see those submissions. OUR FICTION AND PROSE: This is the section for stories, opinions, and thoughts that WE have written. Original thoughts from original people. POETRY: This page is chock-full of poetry. There is a special place here for military poetry, original poetry, and poetry we've found along the way that touched us. QUOTES & ONE-LINERS: My favorite place here. Quotes and One-Liners can make a more profound statement than an entire tome written on the same subject. "Words are more powerful when used with judgement and economy." See. FUNNIES: Make us laugh guys...let's hear it. To submit a posting for these pages, please send your piece, along with the following if applicable: the author, publication name (ie - book title, magazine name, newspaper title, etc.), publisher, and copyright date. Send any submission directly to me via email, and put the words "Poetry Pages" in your subject line. All of the images used in the "suite" of Poetry Page pages are listed on this page. The secondary Poetry Page pages do not list images individually, but they are all credited here. If you like the images on this page and would like to use them yourself, please visit the link for the image’s source on my “Where Did I Get My Graphics?” Page. If you should choose to use one of the images you see on this site, or any other website, do NOT directly link to the images. Download the images to your own hard drive and then upload them to your web server. Thank you and enjoy! The background, dividers, bullets, and buttons on this page all appear courtesy of Dizzie. The home button and the little girl who accompanies my email were taken from Lady DJ's site. Any image that appears on this page that is not listed with its source above was acquired in one of the following three ways: The image may have been given to me by the artist for exclusive use on this site. The image may have been pulled from a reputable public domain graphics engine such as ArribaVista.com. The image also could have been taken directly from the image directories at my host, Angelfire. There are several images throughout this site that were acquired by one of these three methods. Because I believe strongly in making sure that all of the artwork appearing on this site is appropriately used and credited, please feel free to send any inquiries, comments, concerns, or requests regarding the images on this site directly to me via email.
