according to the MWC These links are to sites that I found helpful in my quest for friendly faces, solid advice, reliable information, and a couple of good laughs. Enjoy. The Marine Corps Wives Website This has to be the largest wives' websites that I've ever seen. The Chadduck's, who run the site, have deployment countdown clocks, Marine Corps Knowledge, Stitchery patterns, poetry, artwork, military gifts, and more. Next time you have an hour or two to kill, check it out. Once you start looking, you'll be hooked for awhile. Sgt. Mom's All that anyone ever says about this site is, "wow." That's because Sgt. Mom's is THE place to find out "Why do they?" "How do I?" and "When is it best to?" Sgt. Mom's has links to more than 100 military family and spouse homepages. She has proven and simple coping techniques for stuff like military moves, reading an LES, long deployments, and so much more. You simply can't afford to miss her pages - especially if you're a military newbie like me. She's got too much good stuff to pass up. Go and visit. Just Another Jarhead This Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant has a keen sense of esprit de corps and a lot of knowledge that really shines through on his pages. If you are browsing with children, be aware that some of the military humor on this site may be inappropriate for the wee-est of wee ones - but it's some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen. Gunnery Sgt. Speer has a lot of inspiring and educational information on his site as well. His pages are very OOHRAH, so don't be surprised if you break out into choruses of the Marine Corps Hymn while visiting. The Official Spousenet This is the closest thing to an "official" spouse website out there. Spousenet is directly linked to from the Marine Link site and several other official military sites. It is a collection of good advice, good links, and useful information. The site is very easy to navigate, and the webmaster is very helpful if you have inquiries. I've been to Spousenet many times and still haven't been able to look at even half of their resources. For those of you who are looking for an all-purpose spouse support site to get started, this is your best bet. The White House The White House. No kidding. The official website of the President's home. There's more here than you'd think. Really cool links and fun stuff for kids. I had a blast here, and it's really a beautiful site. Tricare So, it's love-hate relationship. But...if you need them, they're here. I found some useful information and a few answers to some questions that I had about enrollment. It's definitely worth a look, and it beats the heck out of sitting on hold for a customer service rep. The Department of Defense The Home Page of our beloved DoD. I put this up just for the curious. I, myself, am an information freak, so I had fun reading the info. on these pages. Since I enjoyed it, I thought some of you might, as well. Give it a whirl.
