Awards We Give

This site presents four different awards. They are not given on any schedule (i.e. no monthly winner), and we don't have any set criteria for a site to meet to earn them (except our basic guidlines at the bottom of this page). We take our awards very seriously, and give them only when a site's appearance, content, or webmaster has truly touched us in some way. If you want your site to be considered for an award - well obviously, we have to see it first. Just sign the guestbook and invite us over for a look-see.

THE MILITARY PRIDE AWARD

This award is presented to military-centered sites that capture our attention. For this award, we generally favor sites that show a combination of sincere respect for our Armed Forces, reliable information, and heart-felt writing.

THE AMERICAN AWARD

If your site displays a true love of country, you might just see this award show up at your site, someday. If visiting your site makes us want to stand up and sing the Star Spangled Banner, then you qualify.

THE "RIGHT" ON AWARD

I'll preempt this by saying that John and I are NOT political people. We don't want to join anyone's group, and we don't want to chat anywhere with anyone about our political views unless it's in person over coffee. In short...we don't go there. This is not to say that we don't have very strong political beliefs. We most definitely do. If we see a site that agrees with and tastefully portrays those beliefs, we might just give it our discreet stamp of approval.

THE "SEMPER FIDELIS ET SEMPER GRATUS" AWARD

This is an award we give out of respect and gratitude. It cannot be applied for. It is, to us, the highest praise we can give. When the award is presented to a site, it is accompanied by a "cyber-placque" that tells what the award was given for. Only the graphic is intended for display.

To receive any of the above awards, your site must NOT contain any of the following:

*pornography
*hateful or inflammatory content
*anti-American statements or artwork
*anti-military statements or artwork
*excessive or gratuitous foul language

or

*Improperly credited backgrounds, images, etc.
(If you don't give recognition for other people's work, then you shouldn't get recognition for yours.)

GRAPHICS ON THIS PAGE

If you like the images on this page and would like to use them yourself, please visit the link for the image’s source on my “Where Did I Get My Graphics?” Page. If you should choose to use one of the images you see on this site, or any other website, do NOT directly link to the images. Download the images to your own hard drive and then upload them to your web server. Thank you and enjoy!

The background and award graphics on this page were created by Amy Lockyear, the webmaster. There are no terms of use for the background. You may not take any of the award samples.

The dividers on this page were taken from the Papagei site.

Any image that appears on this page that is not listed with its source above was acquired in one of the following three ways: The image may have been given to me by the artist for exclusive use on this site. The image may have been pulled from a reputable public domain graphics engine such as ArribaVista.com. The image also could have been taken directly from the image directories at my host, Angelfire. There are several images throughout this site that were acquired by one of these three methods. Because I believe strongly in making sure that all of the artwork appearing on this site is appropriately used and credited, please feel free to send any inquiries, comments, concerns, or requests regarding the images on this site directly to me via email.

Semper fidelis et semper gratus,
