Verbal Effects (A list of phrases and statements made or common verbal themes.)

At the computer company an electrical engineer had been working for a couple weeks on the ceiling above the data processors and I wondered if he was installing a camera or a monitoring system. When I heard the male yell, "She's hooked, we've got her", I automatically looked at the ceiling and the floor beneath me. (Shades of Flannigan's chair.) I pretended I did not hear and continued to keyboard and a male hit the rim of a glass to see if I would be surprised and respond and said, "I think she hears us". He did this several times to catch me off guard. The group plays much canned laughter and always after each comment they make. At home in my apartment I heard males say, "She has to get up to go to work in an hour, should we let her have an hour's sleep", and other similar comments during many nights of sleep deprivation. I also felt as though an electromagnetic blanket was thrown over my body that gave me terrible pain and I felt as though my bones would dissolve. The males frequently said, "You will have to go down and sleep in your car tonight if you want any sleep". While working at National Computer Services on 76th and France a male said, "We are going to ---- you up one side and down the other whenever we feel like it". At my apartment I heard a male say, "We want you to sign over your car to us and we will figure out how it can be done". The female whined that she had to have my car. A male also said, "We are going to hurt you sometime when you go to the garage to get in your car". I found a piece of cable on the front rider's seat which was about two inches long and perhaps a little better than a half inch in diameter. I did not put it there and I always lock my car door and test it to see that it is locked. I quit work because the harassment was so painful and difficult.
