"Go" is about how abused people (especially if they were abused by their parents) usually pass on the abuse to other generations.
About the band versus the things that made them mad or changed their life (media, fame, ticketmaster, etc).
"Daughter" is about an abused daughter. I've always thought that this was the sequel to "Why Go" from Ten with "Rearviewmirror" being after "Daughter."
About gun control and how we (as a country) have an obsession with guns.
In the dictionary, "Dissident" is "disagreeing, as in opinion or belief" (adjective) or "one who disagrees; a dissenter" (noun).
It could also
be about a man who is running from the government and decides to hide out at either his wife/ex-girlfriend/girlfriend's house. but then she gives into pressure and gives him up and turns him in.
Stands for "White Male American." Rumor says that while Vs was being recorded Eddie and a black friend were talking outside the recording studio (it happened to be in a "bad" part of town). A white police officer walked up to them and started harassing Eddie's friend, but acted like Eddie wasn't even there (left him alone).
About how the media sucked the life out of the band. Made them become their own enemies.
This is about someone who was abused so they fled the situation.
"Rats" is about society and how we, as part of society, are no better then Rats.
10) Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
This is about when you see someone that you haven't seen in a long time.
"Leash" is about control and telling that controlling person to fuck off. Some have said it is the sequel to "Why Go" from Ten.
About losing love. Also about how your live is changed when there isn't anybody in your life anymore.
