Momine Jessen was born in Germany about 1853. He reportedly immigrated to the United States in 1871. He married Emma Sophia Bertha Lehfeldt on April 6, 1884 in Crawford County Iowa. Emma was the daughter of Hans H. and Emelie Lehfeldt. She was born April 6, 1961 in Curau, Eutin, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. On July 13, 1870 her family immigrated to the United States aboard the SS Silesia from Hamburg, Germany. Emma Died February 13, 1936 in Los Angeles, California.
