Theopholus was born October 31, 1819 in the village of Diesse, Canton of Berne, Switzerland. He married Julia Guillaume, daughter of G.D. Guillaume, in Switzerland on February 21, 1845. Julia was born in Switzerland on March 1, 1822. She died in White Lake, NY on June 10, 1853. He died in White Lake, NY on August 22, 1864. They are both buried in White Lake Cemetery in White Lake, NY.
