Daedalus-class Starship
One of the first types of starships commissioned and operated under
the auspices of the United Federation of Planets. These ships were
among the first to demonstate the primary/secondary hull and warp
nacelle designs that would become characteristic of Starfleet
vessels. The Daedalus class was retired from service in 2196.
- U.S.S. Archon (NCC-189)
- U.S.S. Corolina (NCC-160)
- U.S.S. Essex (NCC-173)
- U.S.S. Horizon (NCC-176)
It is only speculated that the U.S.S. Horizon and
U.S.S. Archon were also of the Daedalus class
since there class was never mentioned. The conjectural design for
this class is based on an early Enterprise design by
Matt Jefferies and a model was built by Geg Jein. This model has been
seen as a desktop display in Star: Deep Space Nine.
