      NHL star's comeback enlightening and inspirational -

      Mario Lemieux, the first sports player/owner, came out of retirement on December 27, 2000, to play on his team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, which he has been with ever since his rookie year.



      Clum and company show Standley Lake that Panthers are still the best -

      What is expected from last year's wrestling state champions? A second spectacular season! And this year's Panthers have delivered just that. Five tournament championships and an overall season record of 11-1-1 have the Panthers ranked first going into the regional meet next weekend and the state meet the weekend of February 16 and 17.



      New season, coach for ladies' b-ball -

      This is a landmark year for Pomona Athletic Director Mike Santarelli. Not only is he now the school's permanent athletic administrator but he is also the girls' varsity basketball coach. "I've coached for years, and when the opportunity came up, I thought I'd give it a try," he explained.



      Boys experience growing pains -

      What typically happens to a young team thrown into one of the most difficult leagues in the state? Usually the result is record somewhere around 2-11, which is exactly the record this year's boys' basketball team holds.



      Where is the All-Star Game again -

      North America will take on the world! Where? Right here in Colorado. Colorado will host the fifty-first annual NHL All-Star Game at the Pepsi Center on February 4, 2001 at 7 p.m. In addition to the All-Star Game Denver will be host to the NHL All-Star Weekend consisting of the Dodge/NHL Super Skills Competition, Conoco/NHL All-Star Practice, the Legends of Ice Game, the Celebrity Hockey Match, and the NHL All-Star FANtasy at the Colorado Convention Center.
