INZAGHI AVOIDS PUNISHMENT
Lazio defender Fernando Couto was banned
for two matches by the Italian FA as a result of the kick he hurled at
Cannavaro's head during the course of last Saturday's Lazio-Inter clash.
Television evidence was used to carry out this sentence as the referee of the
match Rosetti hadn't noticed the ugly gesture by the erratic Portuguese
international.
Cannavaro, who had responded to Couto's assault with a gesture known in Italy as
'the umbrellla move' avoided punishment, as did Filippo Inzaghi, who
intentionally elbowed Jonathan Zebina during Milan-Roma.
