Inzaghi Dedicates Goal To Samuele
Filippo Inzaghi dedicated his goal in
Milan's 1-0 win over Inter to a friend who died recently.
"It was important to win, for me it's a double joy," he was quoted as saying on
the club's official site. "After scoring against Juventus, I found the net also
in the derby. I dedicate this goal to our captain (Maldini), who was forced out
injured during the game, but also to Samuele, a friend of mine who has recently
died, and his parents.
He went on: '"Against the big teams we have always made excellent performances,
I think also this evening we deserved the victory. We even wasted more than once
in the box the chance to add a second goal. However, now we must keep hopes
alive and wait for a Juventus slip-up."
Inter coach Hector Cuper felt tiredness played a part in the Nerazzurri's
defeat.
"I think we played quite well in the first half, but our tiredness was evident
in the second half," he said. "After the goal and especially after the
sending-off we didn't manage to get into their penalty area. It was too
difficult."
