LAZIO IMPROVES TO 2-0 IN ITALIAN SEASON

ROME - The Inzaghi brothers helped Lazio and AC Milan get off to perfect starts after two games in the Italian season.

Simone Inzaghi scored early and Demetrio Albertini made a second-half penalty kick to give Lazio a 2-1 victory at Sampdoria.

Filippo "Pippo" Inzaghi, Simone's older brother, scored in the 85th minute for AC Milan as the European champions struggled to a 2-1 home win against Bologna in the only other Serie A game.

Andriy Shevchenko headed in the opening goal for Milan, his third goal in two league games.

On Sunday, defending champion Juventus, AS Roma and Inter Milan can tie Lazio and AC Milan for the lead at six points.

Lazio goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi made a diving save on a penalty kick in the 16th minute. A header by Fabio Bazzani gave Sampdoria its only goal in the 73rd minute.

Sampdoria rejoined Serie A this year. Lazio coach Roberto Mancini was a star forward for Sampdoria for 15 years.

Serie A did not play last weekend because of Italy's European qualifying games against Wales and Serbia-Montenegro.
