INZAGHI AND HIS FUTURE AT MILAN

Filippo Inzaghi lived the best season of his career, he has just signed a contract which links him to Milan until 2008: ha can't ask for more. In a few days he will turn 30 and could celebrate his birthday with a great joy in his heart and the awareness of making an important contribution to writing Milan's history: 'Last season was the best of my life. A great success for me and the whole club. We will never forget the emotion we felt. To stay at Milan is a dream come true and to end my career here was my deepest wish. Last season's achievements are unique and unforgettable, but we will do our best to do even better. We are to compete for six trophies, we will try to win as much as possible.'
Milan count a great deal on him, as he is a player who is soon at his top form: 'It is one of my qualities and I would like to start in the best way also this year. Also because we will have our first fixture, the Italian Super Cup, in less than two weeks. This summer we could enjoy longer holidays, but we were able to keep our form following our individual schedules.'
His enthusiasm is contagious, his goal instinct extraordinary. Here may lie the reason why Juventus chief executive Antonio Giraudo said that if they regret someone, it is SuperPippo: 'Giraudo's words mi hanno fatto un piacere immenso. I thank him because I have a high opinion of him and this makes me proud.' Marcos Cafu has been Milan's unique new-signing of the summer so far, Inzaghi is satisfied: 'The most important thing was to reconfirm the whole team, it is the basis on which we can build new successes. Moreover a world champion has been added to this group: Marcos Cafu will make a great contribution with his crosses and his class. We are ok like this.'
Rumour was that his brother Simone, who plays for Lazio, could have joined Milan: 'I thought of him in a Rossonero shirt, but to be honest I believe he is at ease were at his club. He wants to have more chances to impress after a difficult season. I think next year could be his time. If he feels good, he is very competitive. I'm happy for him because he has started well and I know how much he cares about it.'
Pippo praises also his colleague Shevchenko: 'I think Andriy is one of the best players in the world.' The Rossonero forward can't wait to start with Milan, as he wants to secure a spot in the National side: 'I really want to play the European Championship and do well with the Azzurri. Last season I missed some matches because of injury but the National side is more than an objective for me. I would like to impress at Milan so that I could win a spot also with the Azzurri.'
