MANCINI DENIES RIFT WITH INZAGHINO
Lazio coach Roberto Mancini has insisted that there is no truth to reports
suggesting that there is bad blood between him and Simone Inzaghi.
Super Pippo's younger brother added plenty of fuel to the rumours of a rift by
celebrating his equalizing goal against Parma -which he scored shortly after
coming on as a substiture- by ripping off his jersey and holding the name
towards the bench. The message was clear: remember this name next time you're
making the starting lineup.
When pressed to comment on the gesture, 'Mancio' showed all the cunning and
human understanding of a diplomat.
"I am happy that Inzaghi wants to be on the pitch, but I have to say scoring
goals is part of his job," said the former Sampdoria star.
"During the week his duty is to train well," he added. "When I see that he is in
top form I have no qualms about playing him."
