INZAGHI PROMISED CALL-UP FOR URUGUAY FRIENDLY

Filippo Inzaghi has targeted a return to the Italy side against Uruguay on April 17 after being left out of the squad to face England while he returns to full fitness.

"I really couldn't face two matches in four days," explained the AC Milan forward, who revealed he had been in touch with Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni to discuss the way ahead.

"I've no regrets at all about missing the England match, because Mr Trapattoni told me he was ready to recall me. It's better this way. We took the decision together."

Inzaghi returned for Milan on March 17 after a lengthy spell out with a knee injury and claims he will be back in top shape by the time Uruguay visit his home ground.

"I had a relaxed talk with Trap and we agreed about it. Playing at the San Siro in front of my own fans will make it a happier occasion for me when I come back to the national team," he said.
