PIPPO AGREES WITH BILLY: "TOO HARSH JUDGEMENT"

COVERCIANO - Despite being at Coverciano with the rest of the Italian squad, where they are preparing for the world cup qualifier with Lithuania, Pippo Inzaghi's thoughts are still very much with Milan.

The striker feels that the criticism that Milan have been subjected to after the opening day of the season at Brescia, has been excessive. "I don't understand why people have to start slating a coach and his team after just ninety minutes play. Ninety minutes, furthermore, in which Milan, despite being disrupted by the injury to Rui Costa, managed to avoid defeat at a difficult place like Brescia, thanks to an excellent comeback. Frankly, these are certain things that I don't understand, even if by now they seem to be common attitudes in football."

From commitments with Milan, Pippo has moved to international duty, where the fierce competition for places doesn't allow him the possibility of any rest. "For places in the team for strikers, there is really impressive competition", explains Pippo, "although this is right when you consider the importance of strikers."

"Personally I feel calm, and not worried", concluded Pippo. "The important thing is to be ready to give a good contribution to the team when the coach calls you up. So far, I believe that I've always managed to do that, and I'll continue in that way."
