SHEVA AND INZAGHI
MILANELLO - As
usual, on the eve of a game, Carlo Ancelotti meets the journalists at press
conference at Carnago's complex: 'I've still some doubts about the squad who
will play at Empoli, but we will certainly use a three-man attack. I think I
will pitch Inzaghi, Shevchenko and Pirlo in front of the back line. In defence
Kaladze will be missing due to a niggling injury, with Maldini, Helveg or Chamot
being likely to replace him. Also Gattuso has still been suffering from a
problem on his knee, we'll see his condition tomorrow'.
Fernando Redondo has been named in the 22-man squad for Empoli: 'Redondo is
football, perhaps more than everyone else', the Rossonero coach says.
'You don't need to teach him anything, he is not to be followed by coaches, but
only by fitness trainers. He makes his contribution just staying with the group.
Everybody at the club has a high consideration of him. We are all confident and
support him'.
About Milan moment Ancelotti says: 'Thanks to the last victories we wiped out
the bad period we were going through', he explains. 'What I liked most was that
the whole team made their contribution to defend, midfielders and forwards
included. It's a positive sign that we didn't let in any goal against Inter and
Real Madrid'.
Then he focuses then on the next opposition: 'Let's think about Empoli now. We
want to stay on top spot because it's pleasant'.
