JUNVENTUS PUT INZAGHI DEAL ON ICE
The likely transfer of Juve's Pippo Inzaghi to Milan will have to wait until the end of the season after Juve's Antonio Giraudo called for focus around the title race. In response, his red and black counterpart Galliani decided to postpone his formal offer for the striker.
"Recently there has been too much talk regarding transfers,"
said Giraudo. "The most important thing for everyone involved with
Juventus is to concentrate on the Atalanta and
Atalanta games.
It’s of vital importance that we finish the season well. Only from June
18th will we discuss transfer matters. Before that we have to think about
the championship because it is still alive."
Galliani promptly accepted the postponement. "I fully understand
Giraudo and therefore we will wait until the 18th."
Juve are holding out for $35million for Inzaghi but Milan are willing to
pay around $10million less. The Italian international seems set on the
move and will join Gianni Comandini, Jose Mari and new signing Javi Moreno
in the battle to partner the prolific Shevchenko in attack.
