PIPPO AND RUI
MILANELLO – Good news from Milanello,
today. In the morning Filippo Inzaghi and Manuel Rui Costa arrived at the
red-and-black training center to undergo their rehabilitation programs, looking
forward the day they will be back on the field.
While ‘Superpippo’, who suffered an injury to the left knee’s ligaments
during Milan-Chievo (December 2nd, 2001), had been rarely out this year, Rui
Costa seems particularly affected by bad luck. After the injury on his debut in
the league with AC Milan (Brescia – AC Milan, on August 26th), Rui came back
on September 23rd against Lazio, but was substituted again during Milan-Bologna
for a problem to the ankle (October 28th). Another rentrée with Torino and soon
another stop, before Christmas, in the match against Verona (23 dicembre), for
an injury to his left foot. He will probably be back around the end of January. ‘I
hope the new year will be a luckier one, for me. I wish I’ll do with AC Milan
what I’ve done with the other teams I played in before. I absolutely want to
pay back both club’s and supporters’ affection.’
Today, Filippo Inzaghi starts the second stage of his rehabilitation, after the
surgical operation he underwent. 'I took away the protection and from now on
I’ll be at Milanello every day to follow my physiotherapeutic programs. In a
month, I’ll start running again'. Then, he adds: 'The worst is over,
thanks also to the affection of our supporters. They have always been on my
side, and I’m sure they’ll always be'.
