FIT AGAIN INZAGHI READY TO RETURN
AC Milan forward Filippo
Inzaghi has targeted next weekend's game against Torino for his comeback
following three months out with a knee injury.
The former Juventus forward admitted on Saturday that this weekend's game
against Bologna comes too early for him, but that he expects to play a role
against Torino the following week.
He said: "I'm happy because I'm feeling as I did before the injury. I've
got no fear and the psychological point is the most important one when you're
recovering from an injury like mine. I hope that I will make my return in the
Milan-Torino game.
"Sunday's game against Bologna is crucial for our ambitions to play in the
Champions' League next season. The game is decisive and I don't even want to
consider defeat," he added.
Inzaghi moved to Milan last summer after failing to win over Juve fans despite a
constant supply of goals. And he immediately hit it off with the Milan faithful
after starting the 2001-02 season in imperious fashion.
He formed a lethal partnership with Andriy Shevchenko until disaster struck when
he injured his knee during the game against Chievo at the beginning of December.
But Inzaghi is now close to completing his recovery and the £16 million striker
recently said that he wanted to finish his career with Milan. "I have never
felt as loved as I am here. I'll end my career in Milan," he said.
