Okay, here's what I hate. I'm from the Philadelphia/NYC area and I moved to
Pittsburgh about a year ago. I don't understand why the hell all these
people out here talk so differently from people on the east coast. I mean,
I hear people say they're going to the store and I'm all, what store? And
they're like, the store. And I'm like, there's more than one, what the f*ck
are you talking about? And they say something like, you know the grocery
store? And I'm like, damn, can't you say "super market?" So I was talking
to this guy who goes to school with me at Pitt and we're talking about New
York and I said something about the Bronx and he was like, Oh is it nice
there? Nice? Nice?! Yeah, if you like being hassled by homeless people
collecting empty aluminum cans for money for food. So these people out here
in Western PA have this thing going where they say "yins" and have southern
accents...can someone explain this to me? I can't tell you people how many
kids I have met who sound like they are straight out of sweet home Alabama
and then tell me they grew up around Pittsburgh. What the hell's up with
that?! Not to mention their grammar skills...okay, well I'm done being the
pissed off east coast chick here. Damn, that felt good... :)
