Chocolate Coconut Slices

1 3-oz. pkg cream cheese
1/3 c sugar
1 t vanilla
1 c coconut
1/2 c chopped walnuts

1/3 c butter
1-1/2 c flour
1 c sugar
1/4 c cocoa powder
1 egg
3 T milk
1/2 t baking soda

For fillling:
Beat cream cheese, 1/3 c sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in coconut and nuts. Chill.

For dough:
Beat butter until soft. Add half the flour, 1 c sugar, the cocoa powder, egg, milk, and soda. Beat until thoroughly combined. Then stir in the remainder of the flour. Chill for 30 minutes.

To shape, place dough between two sheets of wax paper and roll to a 14 x 6" rectangle. Do the same with the filling. Remove wax paper from filling and place on top of dough. Roll them up together to get a 14" long roll. Chill 4-48 hrs. Slice 1/4" thick and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 7-9 min. or until all the center has risen. Cool on cookie sheet for 1 min then mive to wire rack to cool. Makes about 52.
