- Feature Article: "Fiction: A Waste of Time?" About the contention of a caller on a Salt Lake City talk show I was guesting on that nobody should read fiction because it's a "waste of time." "Random Shots": "And They Wonder Why." About the liberals wondering why fewer people are going to church while they "drive a wedge" between people and religion; "Ban Cars!" After a man purposely ran over some children why aren't the "anti-gun" types screaming to ban cars? "Woman Kills Home Invader" Another story you won't read about much in the press, since it's about a person who used a legal gun in self-defense; Celebrating Freedom (Not!) By P. Campbell. "Random Shots": "And They Wonder Why." About the liberals wondering why fewer people are going to church while they "drive a wedge" between people and religion; "Ban Cars!" After a man purposely ran over some children why aren't the "anti-gun" types screaming to ban cars? - Number 3:
- Feature Article: "Government Murder is Easy": A story showing how criminals with badges get away with murder simply by claiming they were "attacked;" "Ayn Rand's Message": In this issue: Some people think just because Ayn Rand had some personal foibles that they should just ignore her philosophy. Wrong; "Random Shots": "How Many New Laws?" Whenever there's a shooting, they always call for "new laws." Why? "Hillary's Vision for Your Children": A 'brave new world' in which mothers and fathers take a backseat to an army of teachers, pediatricians and social workers who will take over the main task of child rearing whether you like it or not; "Accidental Shootings": Did you know that only two percent of shootings by armed citizens were found to involve innocent bystanders while the cops accidentally shoot five times more? "Feds 'Militarizing' Police": The military cannot engage in local police activity except under specific conditions. But what about making a military organization out of the police? - Feature Article: "Police State?": An eyewitness account of the so-called "riots" in Seattle by a man who resides on the route the police forced demonstrators to take when they attacked them as they were peacefully demonstrating; "Eyewitness at Seattle": Another eyewitness account with pictures of a policeman kicking a man in the crotch and shooting him with "rubber" bullets at close range; "Words Mean Things": When reading a newsletter such as "Beyond Common Sense" it is important that you understand the exact meaning of words as we use them, not as the liberals do. They routinely distort the meaning of words to confuse you. We use words as they were meant to be used and the exact meaning of many words might surprise you. Some of the definitions are hilarious; "Ayn Rand's Message": "And Bill Gates Shrugged": In this issue we reprint an article recreating the famous scene in "Atlas Shrugged" where Dagny waits in Ken Danagger's outer office while John Galt convinces him to "retire" after the looters demand more of him than he can supply. Danagger is replaced by Bill Gates and Dagny is replaced by one of Gates' lawyers. Very telling;"Random Shots#115": "Global Family Planning?" Clinton is incensed that he didn't get as much money as he wanted for "global family planning." What the Hell is he doing sticking his nose into family planning in other countries, anyway? "Prisoners Abusing Private Data": They let prisoners collect private data such as Social Security numbers, birthdates, credit card numbers, etc. while using them in telephone sales operations. And they're surprised when they use that information to commit crimes; "Your Information For Sale": A private detective recently said in an interview: "[T]he first step in good detective work is obtaining the man's Social Security number." With that, they can find out everything there is to know about him, and it's "public information. What? "Stealing Our Property": Nowadays police can take your property on just the suspicion that it might have been used in a crime. And whether or not you're convicted doesn't make a bit of difference according to the authorities; "Fear of Foster Care": About a child who lived with his mother's corpse for a month to because he was afraid of being put into foster care. What a monster we've created; "Other Articles": Links to other articles of interest; "Information Sources": Links to other sites of interest; "Archives": Where all back issues are listed with a direct link to each.
- Number 5:
- Feature Article: "What's Wrong With Society?": "There are too many people who want to have the power to tell the rest of us what we may and may not do, and way too many others willing to let them as long as they keep giving them 'goodies' using money from the pockets of others"; "Words Mean Things": When reading a newsletter such as "Beyond Common Sense" it is important that you understand the exact meaning of words as we use them, not as the liberals do. They routinely distort the meaning of words to confuse you. We use words as they were meant to be used and the exact meaning of many words might surprise you. Some of the definitions are hilarious; "Ayn Rand's Message": "On Being Judgmental": One of the power seekers' most productive scams is the drive to keep us from "being judgmental," thereby preventing us from holding them responsible for their actions; "Random Shots#115": "Other Animals?" You have to be careful how you phrase things;"Parents of Truants to be Punished": In their usual style, liberals have destroyed parents' ability to control their young, then make laws to punish the parents when the kids predictably get in trouble; "Homeschooling is Better": Homeschooled students score better than public school students everywhere. Recently, for the second year in a row, a homeschooled student won the National Spelling Bee. How many more times must this happen before the "anti-self defense" nuts get the idea? "Police Kill Man in His Bedroom": On the other hand, sometimes it doesn't pay to have a gun with which to defend yourself. Not, at least, when the intruders are cops; "Other Articles": Links to other articles of interest; "Information Sources": Links to other sites of interest; "Archives": Where all back issues are listed with a direct link to each.
- Number 6:
- Feature Article: "I Became A Felon on My Last Birthday:":Because he missed an update of paperwork, this gun owner is now a felon under a new law and can no longer own a gun. This because as a free American, he refuses to go to the police station every four years and submit to fingerprinting and photographing and "jumping through hoops" to keep his constitutional right to own a gun. Not carry one, just own it; Feature Article: "What's Wrong With Society?People are always asking me that question since I criticize the power seekers in this government a lot. They expect a long, involved answer, but I can answer it in a few words: "There are too many people who want to control what others may do and think." It is not; "Webb's Lying Again": Denver Mayor and President of the National Mayor's Conference (or some such) Wellington Webb is lying about gun control again. Not new, but interesting; "The "unanswerable question" about self defense (and gun control) that politicians can't answer without destroying their credibility; "It Must Be Drugs": That's the "mantra" the "authorities" use these days to justify violating people's constitutional rights and confiscate (steal) their property; "Must Be Drugs Again":This is a story about how the "authorities" appropriated $300,000 found by an honest couple so they could avoid giving it back. "Religion in Schools": Many people say that "God is kept out of schools." But that is not true as this item points out; "Meaningless Tests?" Schools are now saying "tests are meaningless" to avoid being held responsible for children who do not learn in their classrooms.
