CLINTON'S LEGACY: President Clinton goes around daily searching for his "legacy," completely unaware of the fact that he has already created a legacy in the sayings he has put into the language. Here are just a couple: When someone is obviously lying, you agree with what he/she is saying, then add: "And Bill Clinton always tells the truth." Or you could say: "He got a Lewinsky." You know what that means.

PAGE 35A BELOW THE FOLD: Attorney General Janet Reno was recently the subject of a deposition in the Waco suit and the "Denver Rocky Mountain News" thought it rated no more than "below the fold" on page 34A in a 48 page issue. While on the front page of this tabloid-sized paper is a picture of two jerks being jerks, playing "air guitars." I guess that was more important than the rare deposition of the Attorney General in the deaths of almost 100 people, many of them children. And "The Rocky" is supposed to be the more "conservative" of the two Denver papers. Go figure. (Source: "Denver Rocky Mountain News")

NO CHILD PROTECTOR ABUSES? Give me a break! With all the cases of abuse of parents and children by the child protector system nationwide that just I hear about every day, does anybody who pays attention really believe Colorado authorities when they say that, with all the "Citizen Review Panels" that have been set up that in 60 of 63 counties they're completely unused? That in all but three counties in the State of Colorado, not a single parent has complained of abuse by the child protectors? It's amazing the things bureaucrats expect us to buy. What's more amazing is that so many people do buy their cock-and-bull stories. (Source: "Denver Rocky Mountain News")

There are several possible explanations for this: either there are no complaints (Excuse me. I had to stop and wipe my eyes I was laughing so hard), or no one has ever heard of the citizen review panels (I'm sure the child protectors haven't been volunteering the information to angry people). Or the child protectors have put "the fear of God" into so many people they don't dare complain. Remember, they're holding their children "hostage in many cases, or have the threat that if theydo complain they'll take them to hold over their heads. Several county officials told Task Force members that they had "taken care of the complaints before they got to the review panels." More likely, if their threats didn't work, they just "lost the paperwork." In any case, for whatever reason, I just do not believe that only four complaints about child protector abuses appeared in the entire state of Colorado in two years. Other people may be that ignorant, but I'm not. (Source: "Denver Rocky Mountain News,")

"RESPECT LIFE" ABOUT ABORTION? In Colorado today, they have about 22 different color schemes on license plates. That's so they can sell specialty plates to special interests of all descriptions. But every once in a while they get themselves in trouble. They did with the new plate they put out about the Columbine massacre. It's motto was: "Respect Life." The pro-abortion folks got so upset that they complained, although the plate wasn't about them. I guess "if the shoe fits, wear it." (Source: "Denver Rocky Mountain News,")

COPS MAKE MONEY SELLING HASH: In Oakland, California, cops stand on street corners selling marijuana to make money for the city. Not by selling the marijuana. They get that back. It is through confiscating the car the buyer was driving when he/she attempted to buy the hash. That means every time it happens, the city gets to keep and sell a car worth up to $40,000 or even more for a simple marijuana buy. They make a lot more money that way than they could by simply selling the marijuana, and they don't worry about supply. They always get the hash back when they arrest the buyer. They get to use it over and over until it crumbles to dust. Whatta scam! Just goes to show that there's no better scam than being the government. (Source: Oakland Tribune)

LIBERALS "MARCH RIGHT ON" NO MATTER WHAT: Have you ever noticed that the drive toward collectivism promoted by the liberals doesn't seem to slow down, no matter who is "in charge" in Washington? No matter who is in the majority in Congress, no matter who is president. We continue to march toward collectivism and socialism regardless. People know it's a swindle, but they let it continue because they have been convinced that they can do nothing. So they do just that: nothing. They turn their backs while their pocket gets picked and their rights stolen. There's a good reason for this. First, they've been working toward that end for the last 50 or more years. They've educated so many people to believe as they do that there are more collectivist believers in schools, from grade school on up to college that collectivism is taught as an ideal from the earliest age. And the longer it goes on, the worse it will get. They've got so many collectivist believers in influential spots in government, schools, and business, that anyone who speaks against it is ostracized like the school child who recently spoke out was (He was punished, declared a "danger," and put into a "mentoring program" where his thinking can be monitored. Translation: controlled and conditioned). One of the things we must do is reverse this trend. They've been working toward their ends for many years, so we won't get it done overnight. But we must supplant these collectivists in positions of influence and power if we're to remain free.

"TWO SETS OF POLLS: Noam Chomsky said on C-Span a few years ago: "There are two sets of polls: one to tell the Ruling Elite behind the Big TV networks what the people really think so they can figure out how to maneuver and manipulate public opinion in the direction they want it to go; and a second set of warped polls that are released to the public for the very purpose of deceiving the people on what the public as a body is really thinking." "Suspicions Confirmed" Department. (Source: C-Span)

PATSY IS "THE PATSY": The Ramseys are still the biggest "patsies" around. Their child gets murdered and the cops bungle the investigation so badly that even if they ever do get enough evidence to convict anybody in her murder, the jury pool have been so "tainted" it will be impossible for anybody to get a fair trial. Governor Owens, who should know better, goes around claiming he has "new evidence" that proves John and Patsy are guilty but he doesn't tell anybody what it is. The cops continue to concentrate on getting "evidence" on the Ramseys, ignoring any evidence that points in any other direction. Meanwhile, people all over the world make millions on the back of this murdered child. Strikes me that if they had evidence that proves the Ramseys or anyone else guilty, there would have already been an arrest. I think they're just "whistling in the dark" trying to make the world think they aren't incompetent.

THE CASE AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY: For most of my life I've been in favor of the death penalty. I thought that if you took someone's life you ought to forfeit yours in return. But in recent years I've seen way too many examples of just how easy it is for a prosecutor to distort the justice process and convict innocent people. Since DNA evidence came about, so many people who were condemned to die for crimes they did not commit have been set free that it frightens me to think how many innocent people we have put to death. Illinois Governor George Ryan was appalled that his state had been forced by new DNA evidence to set more people free than his state actually executed. That's enough to put "the fear of God" in anybody. I know Clinton and the jerks running this country have geared up a promotion to end the death penalty, but for once I can'' fault them for anything but their motives. Darby Tillis, one of those set free, who had been on death row since 1987, said it best: "You can't bring a man back from the grave after you find those errors." And that is what has made me reexamine my stand. If there were a way to be absolutely sure a defendant was guilty, I'd be all for the death penalty for those who have committed some of the terrible crimes we've seen of late. But until that time comes, I'd rather see them in prison for life without any chance of parole. Ever. Better that than kill innocent people and find out later they were not guilty.
