Norway
Mission
1 – Baptism of Fire
Date: Feb 20, 1941 Place: Sola, Stavanger
In short: Incursion to destroy a relay station near the Stavanger airfield
Historic background: Norway. February, 1941. Since the retreat from Narvik in June last year, Norway has remained under German occupation. The Luftwaffe has established important airfields at Trondheim, Herdla and Stavanger. These put the whole North Sea in range of the German bombers.
Objectives: The first mission of your unit will be to attack a poorly defended relay station at Sola, as a part of an incursion near the Stavanger airfield. This will block radio communications for some hours, which will delay German reinforcements. Colonel Montague Smith will be briefing you from now on.
Tactical advice 1: Welcome to Norway, officer. Let's get to the point. 2: I want the relay station in this small island knocked down. 3: The first problem is, your three men have landed at different points: the green beret, 4: the driver, 5: and the marine. 6: First, establish a meeting point and make each man get there. At that point, the marine will take them across to the island. Capture some kind of boat for that purpose. 7: Once there, find a way to blow up the station. There are some fuel barrels that can be useful. The green beret can handle them. 8: That's all. Ah, officer... I understand this will be your first mission in enemy territory. Please be careful. There is a real enemy out there. Thank you.

2 – A Quite Blowup
Date: March 1, 1941 Place: Stamsund, Lofoten
Islands
In short: Blow up fuel depots while in Operation Claymore (Lofoten Islands)
Historic background: March, 1941. Operation Claymore, the first medium scale incursion over Norway, is approved. The objectives: to neutralize industrial facilities and merchant ships in the Lofoten islands, recruit Norwegian volunteers and capture supporters of the collaborationist leader Vidkun Quisling.
Objectives: Your men will land in the Stamsund area, infiltrate a heavily defended camp near Storfjord evading the attention of surveillance turrets and patrols, and blow up the fuel depots inside. This will shorten the range of enemy armored divisions for some days.
Tactical advice 1: Well, officer. Your men will start from the south. 2: The fuel depots are located in the northern section of the camp. 3: Beware of these barracks. The flag indicates that there are enemy troops inside. Buildings with flags,... 4: ... such as this other one, may also be used as prisons. If any of your men are captured, the chances are they will be taken there. 5: Ah, officer... Once you have blown up those depots, you had better get away as quickly as possible. Don't overlook this. I suggest you capture a truck and use the Southwest road. That's all.

Mission
3 – Reverse Engineering
Date: March 14, 1941 Place: Sysendam, Eidfjord
In short: Demolish the dam of Sysendam to knock down the Sima hydroelectric plant
Historic background: It's March, 1941. Repeated incursions in Norway must be organized in order to harass the occupation army and force Hitler to send troops to the zone, diverting them from the Mediterranean scenario. These incursions must meet minimum material means and maximum results.
Objectives: The objective of this operation is to demolish the large dam of Sysendam, near the Sima hydroelectric power plant, in Eidfjord. This way several important bridges will be knocked down and the whole area will be left without electric supply.
Tactical advice 1: Officer, you are going to approach the area from the north... 2: ...and demolish the dam with explosives placed in the base. 3: You'll have to steal some powerful charges from inside the transformer station. Remember only your sapper can handle them. 4: The perimeter of the station is electrified, but the fence circuit can be turned off with this control switch. 5: The spy in your unit is able to impersonate any German commander. Just get him a German uniform and enemy soldiers will do nothing but salute him all the way. 6: After your task is complete, a truck will come to pick you up north from your position. 7: This is not an easy mission, officer. Only the perfect co-ordination of your men will ensure success. Be sure everyone knows his place. Thank you. That is all.

Mission
4 – Restore Pride
Date: March 10, 1941 Place: Stokan, Trondheim
In short: Attack to the Stokkan HQ, near Trondheim
Historic background: In mid March, the Blitz over Britain becomes harder than ever. London, Liverpool, Glasgow and other cities are heavily hit. Churchill realizes the role of successful incursions behind enemy lines to preserve the morale of the nation.
Objectives: The German military command in the Norwegian city of Trondheim has set their HQ in a nearby villa in Stokkan. Your objective is to destroy the HQ and bring mayhem to the zone.
Tactical advice 1: Your position is south of the enemy HQ. 2: Some support equipment has been parachuted to you. Unfortunately, it has touched ground too far to the north. 3: You must get there and take that material. Remember each piece of equipment can be handled only by the man able to use it. 4: You'll attack the villa and cause as much damage as possible. 5: Then you'll capture the patrol boat and escape northwards by sea. 6: Remember you are outnumbered by far. If I was you, I'd try to block the enemy's movements and keep them divided. 7: You can do it by capturing a lorry and setting fire to it at the inner entrance. This way you will create a fire barrier behind you. The lorry can be ambushed by bringing the train to a standstill at the crossroads. 8: That will be all. Good luck, officer.

5 – Blind Justice
Date: 2 May 1941 Place: Herdla
In short: Destroy the radar station at Herdla
Historic background: In May 1941, Allied troops are expelled from Crete while Liverpool and other British ports are heavily attacked by air raids. The need to make Hitler fear an imminent invasion of Norway is greater than ever.
Objectives: Your mission will be to destroy a radar station near the airfield of Herdla. This will blind coastal defenses and give the occupation army a good reason to worry.
Tactical advice 1: You'll approach the complex from the south, 2: knock down the radar station, and escape in the auto giro near the antenna. 3: Access to the top section can only be gained by means of the cable car... 4: ...or by climbing the rocky wall to the East. 5: There's an internal telephone system in the bottom section of the complex. You can use it to attract the attention of the guards. 6: We suspect that some of the southern accesses to the station may be mined. Study the routes of enemy patrols and... mind your step. 7: I want that radar down, officer... and I want you all back alive. Good luck.

6 – Menace of Leopold
Date: 10 May 1941 Place: Masi
In short: Destruction of the Leopold long range cannon
Historic background: Norwegian spring advances. Operation Barbarossa, the German attack on the Soviet union, is being prepared for the next month. Several essays are taking place in Norway.
Objectives: As a part of this rehearsal, the long range cannon Leopold will be used to attack some positions of the Norwegian resistance, before being carried to the Eastern front. The objective of this mission is to shut down this dangerous weapon.
Tactical advice 1: Officer, there isn't much to say. You'll approach the zone from the northwest, 2: find some way to gain access to the cannon, 3: and render it useless. 4: Then a truck will pick you up at the Northeast. 5: That's all I can say. That cannon must never fire again. Please be careful.

7 – Chase of the Wolves
Date: Feb 7, 1942 Place: Arendal, Norway
In short: Destroy a U-boat shelter
Historic background: In the first of February, 1942, the Germans shift to a new cipher code for radio communications with the U-boats, the dreaded submarines which threaten the vital convoys that feed Britain. This will mean the loss of one of the best weapons against the enemy: the ability to decode German messages.
Objectives: According to one of the last
communications successfully deciphered, a group of U-boats is making an
intermediate stop at the Norwegian port of Arendal. Your orders are to
infiltrate the U-boat shelter and sabotage the submarines.
Tactical advice 1: Your team has been divided
into two groups. 2: Take the necessary explosive charges, 3: find your
way to the U-boats, 4: destroy them, 5: and escape southwards to the point
marked by the buoy, using a light boat. 6: Dismissed, officer... take care.

8 - Pyrotechnics
Date: Oct 19 1942 Place: Tell el Eisa
In short: Destroy depots in a garrison in Tell el Eisa
Historic background: It's late October, 1942. Since the arrival of General Montgomery to El Alamein, tense preparations are taking place both in British and Rommel's German-Italian lines. The battle of El Alamein is about to begin.
Objectives: In the meantime, the Commandos will lead small harassing incursions against Rommel's positions. Today, you are commissioned to attack a supply center in Tell el Eisa. If you succeed, this will leave a whole Armored Division without supplies.
Tactical advice 1: Well, officer, you'll start from these ruins in the Northwest. 2: Then you'll infiltrate the camp and blow up all the oil barrels, 3: the fuel depots, 4: and this large reservoir. 7: Then you'll meet a friendly vehicle in the extraction point. And that will be all. Thank you very much.

9 – A courtesy call
Date: Oct 20 1942 Place: Bab el Qattara
In short: Destroy several objectives in a garrison at the west of Bab el Qattara
Historic background: October 20, 1942. In El Alamein, a single question remains in everybody's mind: Why does not Montgomery order the attack yet? Meanwhile, the English general builds up an overwhelming superiority in men and equipment before starting the offensive.
Objectives: In order to disconcert Rommel's troops before the attack, you will be taken across the line of mine fields in Bab el Qattara to the camp of the 21st Panzer Division. There you will await dawn, destroy as many objectives as you can, and then disappear.
Tactical advice 1: By dawn, you should be stationed near the camp. 2: Beware of these Panzers. They are engaged and ready to act against you. 3: You will destroy the detection equipment, 4: the weapons store, 5: the command post, 6: and the bunker. 7: Then a vehicle will pick you up from the south. Simple, isn't it?... Good luck!

10 – Operation Icarus
Date: Nov 14, 1942 Place: El Agheila
In short: Rescue a pilot in the airfield of El Agheila
Historic background: Ten days have passed since the end of the battle at El Alamein, which brought a dramatic exchange of roles in North Africa. Rommel's troops have retreated to the Libyan city of El Agheila in what seems to be a long, hardly fought withdrawal.
Objectives: Captain Gregor McRae, from the Royal Air Force, has been hit while in a reconnaissance flight over German positions, and taken as a prisoner near the airfield of El Agheila. You'll infiltrate the camp and rescue him.
Tactical advice 1: Well, officer. This will be your starting point. 2: You will recover McRae, 3: and destroy the bomb store to the south of the base. 4: Should you consider useful to capture a tank... take care. Right now, this is the only unoccupied one. 5: To get away, you'll take a Junkers 52 in the nearby airfield. McRae can pilot it. 6: Ah... If you find time to wreck some of those Stukas, you'll make me very happy. Dismissed.

11 – In the Soup
Date: Dec 3, 1942 Place: Maradah
In short: Destroy four drilling rigs at Maradah
Historic background: It's December 3, 1942. The Axis forces have commenced a strong counteroffensive from Tunisia. Meanwhile, small incursions will be made in the Libyan zones under enemy control. The objectives: to cut supplies and communications, and gather information about the real strength of Rommel's forces.
Objectives: Your mission will be to cross enemy lines to the oil fields at Maradah, south of El Agheila, and destroy the drilling rigs. This will divert some divisions of the Africa Corps to the south.
Tactical advice 1: Officer, this will be your starting position. 2: And these are the four drilling rigs. Take them out... 3: ...and go eastwards, where a vehicle will pick you up. That's all, officer... Good luck.

12 – Up on the Roof
Date: March 15, 1943 Place: Tunis
In short: Escape from a sweep in the city of Tunis
Historic background: In March 1943, the Allied armies have gained control of Libya. The next step is to expel the enemy from Tunisia. However, a fierce resistance is found in the form of the Mareth Line.
Objectives: In the course of a covert operation to gather information about the Axis defenses, German soldiers have caught up your men in a sweep. They managed to run away, and now they are scattered around the city. A small operation has been set up to rescue them.
Tactical advice: 1: Listen to me, officer! The alarm is off and you are being sought. Your men are dispersed and hidden amongst the buildings. 2: You must help them find their routes of escape across the roofs of the buildings. 3: You will also help our informer in this building to get away. 3: And you'll regroup everybody at the point of extraction at all costs. Take care!

Normandy
Mission
13 – David and Goliath
Date: May 15,1944 Place: Port of Le Havre
In short: Sabotage a replica of the Bismarck
Historic background: The battleship Bismarck, the jewel of the Kriegsmarine, had been sunk in May 1941 during her first sortie at the north Atlantic. This ship was powerful enough to sink the battle cruiser Hood and keep the whole British Navy busy in a long, painful chase.
Objectives: Now our reports indicate that a replica of the Bismarck has been built in the port of Le Havre, and she will leave today to patrol the cost of Normandy. The French Resistance can help us to put four men there. If we can sabotage that ship, we'll put an early end to the rebirth of a legend, and facilitate future operations in the zone.
Tactical advice: 1: You'll be taken to the southern dock of the port. 2: We know that nearby there is a powerfully armed mini submarine. 3: You must bring it close to the battleship, 4: and launch one torpedo against the forward section of the hull. 5: Then, you must use a light boat to get southwards to the buoy. Officer, this is a chance to make history. I wish you the best of luck. Thank you.

Date: May 25, 1944 Place: La Rivière
In short: Destroy four cannons in Normandy
Historic background: It's the end of May, 1944. Everything is ready for Operation Overlord. General Eisenhower is only waiting for the weather conditions to be favorable. At both sides of the English Channel, tension mounts.
Objectives: The last air photographs show four powerful cannons placed near La Rivière, in the area code named Juno. These could be a serious threat to the landings. Your mission: to take them out. This is the way you will write the opening page of the greatest landing of History.
Tactical advice 1: Listen, officer. You'll approach the area from this point. 2: Then you'll knock down these four cannons, 3: take a boat, and head for the buoy. 4: That will be all. Don't leave a single cannon left, officer. Many men will depend on that.

15 – End of the Butcher
Date: Aug 26, 1944 Place: Compiègne
In short: Kill a SS General in Compiègne
Historic background: In the 26th of April, Paris gives the welcome to a triumphant General De Gaulle, leader of the Free France movement. German troops have retreated to the Northeast. One of the first high commands to leave Paris was the SS Grupenführer Helmut Schleper, also known as "the butcher of Paris" for his outrages on members of the French Resistance.
Objectives: Fleeing from judgment, Schleper has withdrawn to the village of Compiègne, from where he will be led to Berlin tomorrow morning with a list of members of the German Resistance. You will liquidate him before he can take this list to Berlin.
Tactical advice 1: You'll start from the southern edge of the village. 2: The best moment to act is during Schleper's morning walk. 3: Do away with him, and then escape northwards to the cemetery. A truck will be waiting for you there. 4: I must warn you that all the village is meticulously defended. At the slightest sign of alarm in any point of the village, Schleper will be evacuated... and you will have failed. Therefore, act with the maximum discretion. You are dismissed.

Germany - The Final Assault
Mission
16 - Stop Wildfire
Date: Sep 4, 1944 Place: Bridge over the
Maas river, north of Liege
In short: Avoid the blow-up of a bridge north of Liege
Historic background: September, 1944. The Allies begin a rapid advance over Belgium. A strong determination leads the Allied command: to cross the Rhine. Preparations for Operation Market Garden are being arranged.
Objectives: As the German forces retreat behind the Sigfried Line, they will try to demolish the bridge over the Maas river, north of Liege, in order to block the way of Allied troops. Your mission will be to avoid the blow-up at all costs.
Tactical advice 1: Officer, this is a very delicate operation, so listen carefully. 2: The enemy has placed some explosive devices in the bridge. 3: Every one of them has one enemy sapper in charge. 4: Their orders are to keep a close watch on each other and detonate their devices if anything suspicious happens. 5: Therefore, you'll have to do away with them almost simultaneously. 6: Once you've done this, escape this way. 7: I want that bridge intact, officer.

17 – Before Dawn
Date: Nov 28, 1944 Place: Riveauvillé,
north of Colmar
In short: Free French Resistance prisoners at Riveauvillé
Historic background: Despite the failure of Operation Market Garden, the Allied forces continue their drive towards the Rhine. At the time this happens, the whole France has not yet been liberated. In Riveauvillé, a small town north of Colmar, the French Resistance leader Claude Gilbert has been arrested along with some of his collaborators, and he will be executed tomorrow at dawn.
Objectives: Your mission is to free the prisoners and bring them safe and sound to the Allied lines.
Tactical advice 1: Your orders are simple, officer. Free Gilbert and his men... 2: ...and lead them to the friendly truck that will be waiting for you. 3: In order to infiltrate the camp, a good stratagem might be to let one of your men be discovered and arrested. 4: Please note there is a mobile bridge near the camp's main entry. It can be operated by means of the lever in the North bank.

18 – Force of Circumstance
Date: Dec 16, 1944 Place: Bridge over the
Maas river, north of Liege
In short: Blow up the same bridge defended in Mission 16
Historic background: In December 16, 1944, Hitler deploys a new surprise operation. German reserve forces break through Allied defenses in the Ardennes region. Soon, Liege is taken by the enemy. The battle of the Bulge has begun.
Objectives: In order to cut off the rapid
advance of enemy reinforcement troops, a small commando team will infiltrate
north of Liege and blow up the bridge over the Maas river. Ironically enough,
the men best prepared to do the job are the same that defended it back
in September. That means you.
Tactical advice 1: Well, officer, I know you
are familiar with the scenery. Only this time you'll play the other role.
2: Just get there, 3: find an explosive charge, 4: place it over the bridge,
and make sure it's destroyed. 5: A vehicle will be waiting for you
at the meeting point.

19 – Frustrate Retaliation
Date: Jan 12, 1945 Place: Oldenburg, west of
Bremen
In short: Destroy V2 launching pad
Historic background: January 1945. While the whole of France is liberated by Allied troops, the Soviets reach a devastated Warsaw. Berlin is the next stop for the Red Army. Meanwhile, the V2 missiles, the last hope of the Führer, begin to be launched against London and other Allied points.
Objectives: Reconnaissance flights have
spotted a V2 launching center in a small industrial setting at Oldenburg,
west of Bremen. You will destroy the launching pads before the missiles
are launched against London.
Tactical advice 1: Well, officer. You'll start
from this point, 2: and destroy these launching pads. 4: Be careful if
you cross the river. The waters here are so fast that you won't be able
to row upstream. 3: The light truck, 4: and the conveyor belt, can be good
means to get inside the base. 5: Once you've completed your objectives,

20 – Operation Valhalla
Date: Feb 11, 1945 Place: Gundelfingen, north
of Freiburg
In short: Destroy a fortress / Take Documents
Historic background: The Soviet Army has entered East Prussia. The end of the Third Reich seems to be imminent. Suddenly, a secret teletype casts a dark shadow over the confident Allied command: detailed technical plans of Fat Man, the first nuclear bomb developed in the Manhattan Project, have been stolen by a Nazi spy and lead across the Atlantic to the Gundelfingen castle, north of Freiburg. From there they will be taken to an underground secret base somewhere in the Carpathians, where a German atom bomb is in the final stages of development.
Objectives: Your objective will be to enter the castle and put an end to this terrible threat.
Tactical advice 1: Officer... This is your most important mission ever. Unfortunately, I can't give you any details. I'm afraid you'll be on your own out there. 2: The only thing I can say is... gain access to the fortress, 3A: and get those documents. 3B: and raze it to the ground. 4: If you succeed, this could mean the end of the war. If you fail... May God protect us. Our eyes are set on you and your men. Good-bye and good luck... son.
