8/9: I recently wuz watchin "Rhythum Nation" which is an late night friday program here in tha CO that shows the latest rap videos, its like tha box or BET's Rap City. On it I saw E-40's first video off his double album "The Element Of Suprise." The track wuz "Hope I Don't Get Back" and tha song wuz pretty tight. Tha video featured cameo's from Seattle Supersonic Gary Payton, Ice-T, B-Legit, Cedric the Entertainer, 2Pac (It was a cut from 40'z "Players Ball" video where Pac wuz playin pool and huggin some hoe), Kurupt, WC, and Nate Dogg. Followin that video was Eightball's "My Homies Girlfriend" which is off his "Lost" album. The video featured cameo's from Tyson Beckford who played the guy who betrays 8-Bizzalle. Tha whole video is like dark and gloomy wit like cigarz smokin, full moon shife. The video has a mystery atmosphere to it. Last of tha new video's iz Kurupts "We Can Freak It" off his soon to be released double album "Kuruption." The video was shot at Kurupt'z Krib, which is pretty damn phat. It has a tight ass pool. Tha only cameo in dis video that I could recognize wuz Snoop Dogg......Recently on the Magic Hour, Howard Stern was on the program. They were takin questions for Howard in tha audience. Howard wuz beein a asshole, so tha dude askin tha questions went to this guy hidin behind this otha guys head and he got up and it wuz friendly from tha "I'm Bout It" movie and "How U Do Dat" video. He said "Howard, Why U Always Doggin My Man Magic On Your Show?" Howard interupted him and Friendly said "I'm Not Done" then Howard tried to interupt again and Friendly goes "Raise Your Hand When U Have A Question" then Howard did it again and Friendly went down to tha stage but Howard ran. Yo dats all I got for now. Peace
Soon To Be Released 2Pac Albums, E-40's "Element Of Suprise" & What Suge Knight Is Gonna Do When He Gets Out Of Jail
7/29: Tupac Shakur passed away on September 13th, 1996. Many thought that was the end of the popular MC's career in the rap industry, but it ended up those many people were wrong. Tupac has been rumored to have anywhere from 100 to 200 unreleased tracks (I will have a page up soon giving info on all the unreleased 2Pac tracks) Tupac's mother started a label called Amuru Records in association with Jive Records. Aumru put out a double album of unreleased Pac tracks, mainly done in '94. The results of the album "R U Still Down?" were unexpected. The album went 5 x Platinum. For an album that was made in '94 and released in late '97, thats not bad. Of course its not as great of accomplishment as Pac's first solo album on Deathrow Records "All Eyez On Me" which went 9 x Platinum. Amuru Records is planning their follow up release to "R U Still Down." Fittingly enough it is the sequal to Pac's "Thug Life Vol. 1." Cleverly entitled "Thug Life Volume II: The Reunion" the album looks to be promising. With a scheduled release date of July 28th, the album hopes to be as succesful, if not more succesful than Volume I of Thug Life. "Thug Life Volume II: The Reunion" features No Limit CEO Master P, Scarface, Danny Boy, E-40, K-C & Jo Jo and many other artists that are yet to be announced. The follow up to "Thug Life Volume II" for Amuru Records will be a Tupac tribute album. There have been all sorts of rumors on who will be appearing on this album. I know for a fact that Modonna, Bizzy Bone, and Too $hort will be doing tracks for the tribute album. It will also feature a few unreleased Pac tracks. Also Master P has already recorded a track for the album entitled "Legends" which talks about the deaths of Pac & P's dead brother Kevin Miller. Amuru Records asked Janet Jackson to make a track for the album, but I'm not sure if she is going to do it. Other artists I have heard might appear on the tribute album are Outlaw Immortalz, Richie Rich, Daz Dillenger, Kurupt, Boot Camp Click, and Treach of Naughty by Nature. Also on E-40's "Element of Suprise" will feature a tribute song for Pac. That track is also rumored to appear on the tribute album. Fittingly enough, the Sell-Out himself, Puff Daddy, contacted Amuru Records and wanted to do a song for the album. Amuru does not confirm or deny that Puffy is doin a song for the album. Lets just hope that the fuckin bitch isen't on it, he already got enough skrilla exploiting B.I.G's death, I just hope that Ms.Shakur will keep in mind what her deciesed son would do. This tribute album is set to be released September 13th, the 2 year anniversary of 2Pac's death....E-40's fifth album in six years, "The Element of Suprise" is set to drop August 11th on Jive/Sik Wit It Records. The double album will feature Master P, B-Legit, Busta Rhymes, KC & Jo Jo and several yet to be named artists. As I said before, the album will also feature a 2pac tribute song. If Fonzareli's "Element of Suprise" is nearly as good as "Hall of the Game" it will tight, Also scheduled to be released by 40 is a movie similar to Master P's "I'm Bout It" entitled "Fonzareli." It is set to drop a few weeks after the album along with a soundtrack to the movie .....Suge Knight has been in jail nearly one year and is going to be released sometime within the next 4 monthes. I read an article in "The Source" about an interview they conducted with Suge while he was in jail. It was right after No Limit bought out Snoop's contract with Deathrow. Suge said that jail was the best thing that ever happened to him because he has found peace with himself and he now knows who his real friends are. When asked about Snoop leaving Deathrow, the Co-founder of Deathrow records replied "I knew once I wasen't there to hold his hand he would be consumed by the money and fall into evil, but I'll be makin money off of Snoop for years to come." The CEO of Deathrow Records is absolutly right because he owns the rigths to dozens of unreleased Snoop tracks. He also owns the rights to unreleased 2Pac and Dr.Dre tracks. He is set to have a Suge Knight Compilation coming out this fall featuring Deathrow hits and unreleased Deathrow material. Other Deathrow releases this year include Makaveli: One Nation, and a yet to be titled Danny Boy album. Snoop's unreleased track "Deathrow Killaz", which is similar to 2Pac's "Bad Boy Killaz", is rumored to be appearing on No Limit's "Down South Hustlaz Volume 2: Makin Moves." I predict by the beginning of '99 it will be Deathrow vs. No Limit, which could of made a good battle if Snoop and Dre were still on Deathrow, and 2Pac was still alive. Suge's camp has already made several death threats to Master P. One of which was when P was scheduled to be interviewed on an urban Chi-Town station but couldn't because, according to the radio station, he recieved a death threat from Deathrow. I hope that someone starts beef with No Limit! I am sick of all this "Its Nothin But Luv from The East, to the West" I wanna see battles like the one LL iz havin wit Canibus & Wyclef or Deathrow vs Bad Boy, Pac vs LL, Mobb Deep, B.I.G, Fugees, Da Brat, Jay-Z, or Puffy, Eazy vs Dre. It's good for hip-hop. I am hopin that Ca$h Moaney Records starts beef with No Limit. They are the only label right now (in my mind) that can blow the shit out of the tank. Master P's label is turning into Bad Boy. They sample shit from other people's tracks on almost album now and they are MTV friendly now. Like Master P said "I'll never sell out, Stay Tru 2 Tha Game Playaz & Playettes." Well he didn't stay Tru 2 Tha Game in my opinion and he also says that "Only Hoes Rap About Other Niggaz on Records, I'll Never Rap Bout Another Nigga on a Record" I would like to see someone joke the shit out of P and see of he wasen't lying about that too. Thats All. Peace
