CONSUMER ADVOCATE
"Thieves respect property, they merely wish the property to become their property that they may more perfectly respect it." G.K. Chesterton coined this phrase sometime before his death in 1936. The "thieves" to which he referred were not as subtle as the thieves which victimize the consumer in these modern times. But the thieves thrive this day; in the business world large and small. In the "confidence men (women)" whose scams are artful, but as devious as a winding road, and the once trusted financial institutions, some of which are so crooked that they screw their socks on, particularly as concerns the terms related to bank and store credit cards. Car dealers whose deceptive advertising and "bait and switch" tactics bring the word scam to new heights.
Caveat Emptor - The Latin for Let the Buyer Beware! As an example: an unlisted number with the servicing telephone company is not what is promised since the (unlisted) number is available to those businesses who pay the telephone company for their lists of unlisted number subscribers.
All for the GREAT GOD MONEY !
