WEBMASTER
My, what an impressive title ! Sounds frightening, but it is not. Actually, the title and the chores which it entails are tedious and exacting as opposed to frightening. However, the person who takes on the mantle of a Webmaster does it readily and with pride.
When the web site is designed and complete is when the webmaster takes over. It is their duty to make sure the sites are submitted to the different search engines, find and install all guest books, link pages and counters.
A Webmaster is sort of an 800 number which a viewer may contact with any queries or comments they may have regarding a web site they are visiting. We will dispense with the telephone company in those instances, and rely on E-Mail instead. Also, the Webmaster is responsible to the site owner for the appearance and workings of a site.
Daily visits to each site is a chore of a Webmaster; page counters must be recorded or adjusted,. site content must be updated as required and all links to other sites to determine that they operate properly. Reports have to be made to the web site owner and updates have to be put in place. Web sites are not as static as words printed on a page. The malfunction of a web site carrier could disrupt the site, where extensive "repair" might be necessary - if so, the Webmaster has work to do !
Tedious work ? Exacting work ? Yes ! But a competent and dedicated Webmaster labors with love at her chores. Yes, Christine loves what she does. Visit the sites she designed, which I identified on another page, and you will see the love shining through.
