Yes here comes another edition of the monthly article that brings you all of the information you need about the previous month and what's going on in the world of hockey.This month is no different giving you a look at the hockey beneath the ice.

Well the playoffs have been under way now for the last month and we have seen some fast and ferrous hockey. We are now down to 2 teams within the great Stanley Cup finals. It's between the Dallas Stars and the New Jersey Devils. Let's take you back through some of the games of these two teams and how they got here.

First off Dallas started out playing Edmonton Oilers which they had an easy time with going 4-1 and winning the series. Their one loss in the series came at a game in Edmonton when they lost 5-2 in a hard fought battle that Belfour was just not in.

Moving on to the second round where they were up against the San Jose Sharks who had been doing good in the regular season with teamwork. Well Dallas proved to be the bigger and better team winning the series again 4-1. The one loss came at San Jose where they were just outplayed and got taken by some good goals in a 2-1 loss. This then moved them on to the Western conference finals.

In the western conference finals they faced their hardest challenge yet in the name of the Colorado Avalanche. Both these teams played their hearts out and it all came down to game five where the series was tied up and this was a must win for Dallas going to Colorado for the next game. They went into overtime 1-1 and who came out on top? Dallas with a beautiful tip in front of the net. Then it came down to game seven in Dallas with the massive crowd on hand. Dallas had the lead 3-0 at the end of the second and Colorado just battled back to a 3-2 game. But after a shot hit the post with around 20 seconds left it turned out to be over for the Avalanche.

Now the Dallas Stars will be moving on to the Stanley Cup finals for the second year in a row with the heart and determination to win it all.
