Finally
a review of NHL FaceOff 2000! Is it up to the NHL 2000 challenge for the
playstation console? Lets find out the facts! First off Faceoff has a little less features than NHL, like not even having a shootout! I think 989 tried to make up for that by adding Scotty Bowman's incite in playcalling and the fans throwing hats on the ice after a hattrick. Which are both good features but don't make up for the lack of a shootout! Next the sound which is the best thing in the game! Play by play is done by Darren Pang and Mike Emrick, who get it right. They don't repeat very much and they keep it sort of funny in a way. The game also holds all of the sounds of a normal hockey game and it is some of the best in a video game. The rest gets downhill from there. The graphics are terrible. Like the goals look like their made from cardboard and the guys on the bench look the same. With all this plus the game having some of the worst gameplay ever in a game doesn't help. The game is some of the easiest stuff you could ever play and just when you think it will get harder, it doesn't. In a sense this game has actually took a step down from it's predicessor. So I would recommend renting this one star hit before buying it. You might have some fun for a while.
