Janeane Garofalo was born September 28 (shes a libra) 1964 in Newton, New Jersey. She is the middle child of 3, a younger brother and an older sister. She attended Madison HS, in Madison New Jersey until the middle of her senior year, when her parents moved to Houston, Texas. She attended Providence College, where she got a BA in History and American Studies. She is divorced, but previously married Rob Cohen in Las Vegas. She is 5'1 and has brown hair and eyes.

Although she is not regularly a chain smoker (like her character Heather Mooney,) she does smoke Marlboros.
