FALL 2002 TRIP TO WISCONSIN

We took another trip to Wisconsin in September 2002. The following photos are scenes from that trip.

We stayed at the riverboat casino, Ameristar, in Council Bluffs, IA. By law, the riverboat must pull away from land and go up or down the Missouri River. This occurs at 7:30 every morning and it is gone for 90 minutes. Other times, it is tied-up at the main building of Ameristar.

We made a side trip to Bloomington, MN to see the Mall of America. I guess it is the largest in the U.S.

Here are photos of 4 barns in Wisconsin. I've never seen a green barn (BTW, the crop in front is soy bean) or a yellow barn. Red ones are very common and there are a lot of white barns as well. Scenes like in the last photo are fairly common also....collapsed barns!

Here are some views of the dairy region around Plymouth, WI, leading off with feeding cows. Also, the sandy beach at one of the state parks near Sheboygan.

The first photo is of the Waelderhaus ("House in the Woods") located in Kohler; followed by a typical Victorian house found throughout the state. The next photo shows some of the Lake Michigan shoreline near Sheboygan. The last photo is a display of bathroom fixtures in the Kohler Industries showroom.

Pictures of items I enjoy finding....three old tractors and an old sedan. How can you not like it?

A couple of sunrises (never did have a nice sunset to take a picture of). The first sunrise was taken in Des Moines IA. The second was in North Platte NE. The last photo is a display honoring the Pony Express which was routed nearby in Julesburg, CO.
