The Battle For Our Mind
 
 
 
 
True mental health is characterized by "the peace of God."
Phil 4:7
 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
This begins with the true knowledge of God and of who we are in Christ.
Mental, emotional and spiritual health can be established if you know and believe:
 
That I am a child of God. (Rom 8:16)
That He will supply all my need. (Phil 4:19)
That I have eternal life in Christ. (John 3:16)
That I am spiritually alive right now. (1 John 5:11)
That He has completely forgiven me.  (Col 2:13-14)
That I am spiritually alive right now. (1 John 5:11)
That my heavenly Father loves me.  (Eph 3:14-19)
That He will never leave me nor forsake me.  (Heb 13:5)
That I have an eternal purpose for being here. (Eph 2:10)
That there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. (Rom 8:1)
That the peace of God is guarding my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus (Phil 4:7)
That God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and discipline. (2 Tim 1:7)
 
 
 
If we would just replace all those lies of satan's with these truths,
we would win the spiritual battles in our minds!
Take for example the lie that I don't really have a purpose here on earth--a very common thought during times of extreme despair.  We could conquer that lie with :
Eph 2:10
 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Replacing the thought in our mind with,
"I am God's workmanship, created in Christ to do good works,
which God in advance prepared for me to do,"
would defeat Satan's strategy right here.
Father, I pray you will bring to our minds these truths
when satan attacks us with his lies.
May we memorize and meditate on these verses and
use them as Christ did when confronted with satan's lie
--Your Word is our sword!!

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
