First you have to catch a good chocobo, and feed it and race it till it's an A or S class. You can find one by the gold saucer. They are always with spencers. If there are anything with the spencers, then it's not a good chocobo. Next catch a great chocobo and feed it and race it until it's an A or S. Great chocobos can be found by Mideel, and are paired with 2 spirals. If you run out of money you can sell a MASTERED all materia for about 4.5 million gil. Next you have to get a carob nut. You can obtain one of these by stealing one from a vlakarados near bone village, or purchase one at the gold saucer with 500 game points. Now you can breed them, and if your lucky you got a green chocobo.

HOW TO GET THE RIVER CHOCOBO(BLUE)

Getting the river chocobo is the same as getting the moutain chocobo. The only difference is when they mate, the baby should look blue.

GETTING THE MOUNTAIN-RIVER CHOCOBO(BLACK)

First you have to two A or S class chocobos. One has to be male, and the other one has to be female. One is a mountain chocobo, and the other is a river chocobo. Find another carob nut and breed them, and you should get the black chocobo.

GETTING THE OCEAN CHOCOBO(GOLD)

If you have a black chocobo, keep on racing it until it is an S class one. Then catch a wonderful chocobo. You can find these by Isicle in. They are either paired with one or two jumpings. Race it until it is S class and get the Zeio nut. You have to visit goblin island in the northeast corner to find a goblin. Now mate them together and you should receive a gold chocobo.
