AROUND
THE BEND
The valley was steep,
At times I wavered,
I was on a wagon train
with no end,
Hold on, I thought, it's just
around the bend,
But there was no end. No end.
The valley grew steeper,
I sank into despair,
The burdens overcame me,
I felt darkness everywhere,
Hold on, I thought, it's just
around the bend,
But there was no end. No end.
Days turned into months turned
into years,
I did not endure with grace,
or so I thought,
Until someone said, "God has
blessed you with faith,"
I had been too busy looking
at the end,
While God had been taking me
around the bend.
