Lesson Three on Astral Travel of Robert Graham

Imagination is the essence of astral travel. Remember when as a child you pretended you could fly? Be that kid again and pretend again. Use ariel maps. Microsoft has a site of satellite maps of almost every spot on earth. Most local libraries have free internet access. Spend a few evenings looking at these maps. Get out some road maps and pretend you’re driving on the roads the map pictures.

Now get comfortable in your meditation position. Recliners are great for this exercise. If you have time go for a leisurely walk before you do this exercise. It will leave you with a tired body and an alert mind. For me a long slow walk can prompt a lucid dream. Often when I walk in the outdoors, I get a feeling of lightness. It feels like I could take off just like Superman. If you walk outside often enough, you’ll get that same feeling. Capture that feeling, you’re going to use it later.

Movies are a great aid to your astral travel efforts. Watch a Superman movie and observe the flying scenes. Do this right and you’ll get a vicarious feeling of flying. Watching birds and especially seagulls flying, also helps. I can almost feel the air lifting me as I watch them whirl and turn.

Imagination is more than pictures in your head. It’s feelings and smells and hearing. Many people say they have trouble visualizing. It’s really easy. You’re visualizing every time you daydream. Think of it as fantasizing with a purpose. Remember how you fantasized about your first date with your mate, or those pictures in your head about your wedding? They are a form of astral travel. If you could picture those events, you can pretend you’re in a place you’ve never been before.

Now I have a special treat for those who worry all the time. Do you know how lucky you are? Worry is the most popular form of visualizing on the planet. If you can worry, you can astral travel. All you have to do is worry about a place you’ve never been.
