Well, I supppose I should start from the very beginning. Rich and Ben started a band way back when Ben was a freshman in high school, and rich was in 7th grade. The drummer then was Matt M., he was a great drummer, but things never really panned out. Since then he has done some amazing things, so we are glad we didn't hold him down.
For nearly 3 years Ben and Rich jammed in Ben's basement, wrote a few things, and began a chemistry and style. By the spring of '99, they decided to look for a drummer in order to start a band. By the time they hooked up with Mike, they already had 3-4 songs. Throughout the summer the new found threesome worked on their music. It wasn't, however, until early Fall of 99 that they became more serious, making a more rigid and consious effort to practice at least once week, mostly twice. By the time they played their first show (on September 25th with Lemonade Stand, Organized Caos, and Average @ the Broomfield Ampitheatre)the ball was rolling. Suprisingly they got very positive feedback from the small crowd. Since then, the songs have gotten better, louder, and more rock and roll!
At their first "real" show at the Starlight Room in Ft. Collins on December 23rd 1999 nerves got to all of them, and they bombed. I mean it was bad!!! But fortuneately no one was around, and they only embarrassed themselves in front of their friends. A few weeks later at the Place they rebounded and played an awesome set. The show was like night and day compared to the starlight incident. Since that show things have been much better for the guys. They are feeling better about themselves as a band and it shows.
This past November a new member was added to the ANR family. Cole Rudy brings in another guitar and entusiasm to boot. The sound is changing to a little more edgy style of the pop-core punk you are all used to. The four of them are noticably excited, and with more shows coming up the future is theirs to dictate.
