My wife Heidi joined the family in May 1978, in Colombo Sri Lanka. She was travelling overland to London & stopped in Colombo to work on her air ticket when we met her & she got saved & joined the Family! Heidi had just turned 21 & when we met, we fell in love. In September of that same year, we were married.
We served the Lord together mainly in Sri Lanka & in India. Two of our children were born in Sri Lanka & 2 in India.
She was a real go-getter & never took "no" for an answer. She was very good at outreach & raising the children in the Lord.
We travelled a lot in India and did MWM follow up & meetings & DTD witnessing, getting out the tapes.
She really enjoyed kids & always was a LIVE one at fellowships & birthday parties & she loved to dance!
In 1989 we came to Australia. Then in September she gave birth to our first baby born in Australia. By this time, as our older children were Jett age she was mainly involved with Jetts & later she was more involved with the Jett & Teen programmes. During the court battles here Heidi was part of the Legal team & took very active part in fighting for the kids & the Family. By this time we had 8 children. The last one born during the period of our court cases.
She usually had the babies very fast & this time we could not get to the hospital in time & the baby was born in the car! When the baby was 10 months old we found out that Heidi had cancer. It was a really desperate time for us, but our larger Family was behind us in so many ways. God bless them. The doctors said the cancer was terminal & she could die in 3 months, but the Lord in His mercy gave us one year.
She passed away peacefully in my arms at home on the 3rd of September, 1995. She was 39 at that time & the last three months or more I was able to take care of her at home.
Before she passed away she made story tapes for the childern (Life with Grandpa stories) & a video of various activities with the kids & others in the home.
God bless you & much love, Peter.

That's what she was--our brave little mother, always so full of fun and joy. She loved life and passed that love onto us. She was always so young at heart, always finding reasons to have parties, dances and game nights, she was brimming over with happiness and special projects and things for all of us. ******** She fought for us too and she fought against so many things, so she could have her heart's disire which was to see all of us grow up " in the way of the Lord. Even at the very end, her only concern was for us kids whether we were getting enough sleep, if we were eating right, if were warm enough etc... what made her happiness was to see us helping others. ********* The saying that " You can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool mum" was so true of our mum. None of my teenage shenanigans went unnoticed either, but even though I was getting it for my "wickedness", I knew she knew what it was like. She used to tell me that during her teenage years, me at my worst was better that her best. Ha! She lived to help others, she was always putting herself last and wouldn't rest until she knew that all of the kids and Dad were taken care of. And she was, to the very end, our "Brave Little Mum".
This is from Teresa (9 years old)"I remember my Mum used to take us to the beach or parks in the week ends & had a nice barbecue. She would read us bed time stories & before she went to heaven she made us some bible story tapes which I listen to . I love my Mum very much & will see her when we get to heaven"
