When I was a young girl growing up in Puerto Rico in the 70's, there was a faithful brother by the name of Salvation who really caught our attention. He was very meek & quiet. Older than most of the adults. He was very saving. I remember he would use his pencils until they were very short & would keep it neatly with his little notebook wrapped with a rubber band.

Salvation was a faithful witnesser, & went to be with the Lord while on a road trip. He was found kneeling in a small hotel room if I remember correctly. After his death some of those in the home couldn't figure out what had happened to some of the funds that he had at the time of his graduation. They found out shortly afterwards that he had sent the $200 (a lot of money in those days) to family missionaries in a far flung field. God bless him!

Byron of Marie (formerly Rain & Rejoice)

I knew Salvation really well. He was a Puerto Rican national brother & definitely one of the most inspiring & humble of the missionaries we had in the Carribean during those years. If he wasn't reading the Word or witnessing he was helping around the home. His greatest love was to be getting the Word all over Puerto Rico.

He seemed to have a premonition that he wasn't going to be here long. So each day for him he took as being his last. He had some type of a heart condition from what I remember, but he wouldn't talk about it. At times he would be weak and tired, but even then he would get up & go out witnessing.

In those days we did a lot of street light witnessing selling the lit car to car in the days before the posters. He was a tremendous witness and always came home with beautiful testimonies of souls saved and Word having gotten out.

He would go all over to the little mountain provinces in Puerto Rico that had never been hit, getting out the Word. He never wasted a minute of his time, as he was so dedicated to doing all he could while he had the time.

On his last road trip he couldn't find a partner to go with, so he went by himself. It was there alone with Jesus that he went across the Jordan & went to be with the Lord. It was a really sad time for all the Puerto Rican famly, but we knew that he was happier still in his new glorified body and able to meet Jesus face to face & receive his, "Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord!"
